Many of our paddlers enjoy paddling for the opportunity to explore new places and benefit from a nature-rich environment you don’t usually get to see from roads or footpaths. Recreational paddlers tend to use the more stable racing kayaks, which offer efficient paddling for longer distances but with a reduced risk of swimming.

Our home on the Wey Navigation offers opportunity to travel up stream towards Farncombe and downstream through some beautiful countryside towards the busier Thames.

In addition to our local water, many of our recreational paddler groups will arrange trips to explore new stretches of water such as the Arun, Basingstoke Canal or the Avon. Look out for tours promoted in the club events schedule.
