The adults section encompasses the full breath of kayaking expertise and aspirations. If you are looking for opportunities to tour new waterways, test your endurance on the world famous 125 mile Devizes to Westminster, or try international descent racing or surfsking then make Wey your home!

We welcome university students (both “out of port” and visiting paddlers) and have a growing community of young adult paddlers.

Volunteering and contributing to the overall club experience is important to us and we would encourage you to get involved, on or off the water.

Experienced Paddlers

If you have any of the following experience you can join the club straight away, just email skillscheck@weykayak.co.uk and arrange to complete a skills check with a short orientation to the club.

• You are Division 9 or above in the UK and have paddled in the last couple of months
• You are from another country and have experience at a high level.
• If you have done one of the following you will be asked to do a one-to-one skills check where we can assess the best path for you.
• You have a significant experience in other areas of paddlesport e.g. WW, Surf or Sea Kayak but not paddled a racing kayak
• You have paddled racing kayaks or racing canoes before and are not in those categories.
• Have completed a British Canoeing Personal Performance Explore Award at an accredited provider in the last 12 months.

Adult taster sessions

We offer adult taster sessions to try kayaking and decide if you would like to join the club (cost £10). Following the session, those who wish to join will be invited to join an introductory course on payment of the annual membership fee.
